Richard is the Media Content Manger for Success4.com. He has a BA Honours in Film and Television Production from ARU in Cambridge where he went on to manage the Multi Camera TV Studio as well as teaching film editing, directing for film and writing for screen.

Richard has worked at BBC Voice, managing the television studio as well as running Appletree Media Norwich which made documentaries and promotional video's for social services. He also worked in broadcast Radio at BBC Radio Norfolk and Star Radio in Cambridge. He now manages the online content for Success4.com as well as creating the video and podcast content for Success4 and Success4's clients.

He also mentors on his Feed Your Social Media Monster training course which he designed and delivers to help success4 clients to creative innovative and creative content for their social media pages.

THE WIZARD IS STILL FRANTIC BEHIND THAT CURTAIN

In life aim to be a student and not a follower and to take advice, study information but don’t take orders. In the self development field its tempting to get hooked on a quick fix Guru, some slickly styled person who electrify’s the room with his or her energy. You feel pumped and you feel good, the endorphin’s are doing a merry dance in your mind, through the canals of your vain’s and making you feel alive for the first time in months, perhaps years.

But what happens when the dance is done? when the music has stopped and it’s time to go home with you, back to you and who you were before? What now? and what next?

There are some incredible coaches in the world, people who can truly guide you along your journey and benefit your life is so many wonderful ways. Having a coach can be life changing and we are passionate about finding the right one for you. But be a student and not a follower, by all means study the greats and take what you need and be on your way but be careful not to stay too long under the spot light of a self development Guru. so as Jim Rohn say “make sure what you do is the product of your own conclusion”

Create your own philosophy, use your mind and process your own ideas. Creation comes from taking the components around you, adding your own soul and art and from that something new is born. Self development is of course about the development of self, not the raising up of someone else and you certainly do not need fixing.

Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing and use your own inner guidance to say “No” because boundaries are self empowering for the simple fact that YOU get to lay them down and they are YOURS, not given to you. Do not be fooled into thinking that the Wizard of Oz has suddenly figured it all out and is no longer frantically pulling those leavers anymore, Social Media is now the new curtain in front of the Wizard who is still to this day (maybe now more than ever) frantically pulling on those leavers.

Don’t give yourself away to some Guru, it’s in inversion of what self development was supposed to be. Be a student of those who went before you, take advice and TAKE WHAT YOU NEED AND BE ON YOUR WAY, empowered and on your unique self development journey.
